Gannon is offering summer programs for high school students on cybersecurity and manufacturing

CyberPatriot Standard & Advanced Summer Camp: In conjunction with CyberPatriot, Gannon University will be hosting a five-day Cybersecurity summer camp for high school and middle school students. The CyberPatriot Standard Summer 2024 camp will be hosted in the new highly equipped Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge (I-HACK) at Gannon University. Students will be taught essential cyber safety and cybersecurity principles that are highly relevant for protecting devices and information from the ever-growing rampant cyber threats. Instructions and hands-on lab sessions will be provided by Gannon's Cybersecurity faculty and industry cybersecurity experts. During the camp sessions, each student will have their dedicated high-performance computer equipped with extensive labs. Students will also have an opportunity to interact with fellow peers directly and Cybersecurity Professors, ask questions and receive guidance about cybersecurity careers.

 UMT Summer Camp: Welcome to Understanding Manufacturing Technologies (UMT) Summer Camp! This camp is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of manufacturing technologies, including 3D printing, laser cutting, and machining. Through hands-on activities and workshops, students will gain a foundational understanding of each technology and learn how they can be used to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. Throughout the camp, students will work in teams to design, prototype, and test their own projects using the tools and techniques they have learned. By the end of the camp, students will have a solid understanding of manufacturing technologies and the skills to continue exploring and creating with these powerful tools. Students at UMT Summer Camp will also have the opportunity to build and take home their own 3D printer! Through a series of workshops, students will learn how to assemble and calibrate a 3D printer from scratch, gaining a deeper understanding of how the technology works. Once their printers are complete, students will have the chance to experiment with printing their own designs and troubleshooting any issues that arise. This hands-on experience will give students a unique perspective on 3D printing technology and equip them with valuable skills for future projects.
