To Memory Walk PageOn Saturday October 9th, Mr. Viglione and 6th grader Emily Howard, walked in the Alzheimer's Association's Memory Walk.  The walk was held at the Erie Zoo.  Emily Howard and Mr. Viglione met up with past R.O.L.E.S. advisors, Mrs. Nagorsky and Ms. Mir.  We had fun walking through the new children's zoo, but Emily and Mr. V found out they were really slow walkers compared to the speed of some of the other walkers.

8th grader, Nicole DiTullio donated money, but was unable to walk.

On Sunday, October 10th, several R.O.L.E.S. members took part in the Walk to Make a Great Park Better at Presque Isle State Park.  All money collected was going to benefit the beautiful park grounds.  Miguel Acevedo, Orlando Acevedo, Jeannette Casiano, Donna Mosco, Amber Sanfelice, Trenecia Carroll, and Mr. Viglione collected money for this great cause.  Despite a chilly fall day, walkers had a great time and the food was delicious.

Sixth graders Amber Sanfelice, Donna Mosco, and Trenecia Carroll were unable to attend the walk, but still donated an awesome amount of money.

The last few weeks of September and the for the rest of the 1st semester, R.O.L.E.S. members along with the faculty, staff, and fellow students collected old phone books to give to the Second Harvest Food Bank.  The Food Bank then received money from Erie Energy Products for each ton of phone book brought in.   Erie Energy Products uses the recycled books to make new insulation. To read more about the Phone Book Drive, check out the NW PA Second Harvest Food Bank website.
