The Caring Closet was founded in 1999, and is located in the ESD Service Building at 16th and Cranberry.  Academy students have been involved  with the Caring Closet since it was started, and it was Academy student Heather Milburn who actually got the room for the first Caring Closet.  The Caring Closet is essentially a room filled with donated clothes that have been sorted.  People who need the clothes receive a referral card from a guidance counselor or shelter and are able to come to the Caring Closet and get what they need.  Volunteers are the ones who sort the clothes and help customers and donations have come from all over Erie thanks to Caring Beyond the Holidays.  If you would like to learn more about the Caring Closet, please contact Mr. Danny Jones at 450-4004.
