WARNING THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF SOPHOS
IS BEING REPLACED PLEASE UPDATE TO THE NEWER ONE.
Sophos
Anti-Virus software is for windows 2000/XP/VISTA operating systems and is for home use
only.
You must remove any prior anti-virus
software INCLUDING THE OLD VERSION OF SOPHOS on your computer before installing
the new version.
Follow
these installation instructions:
1. Click
the SOPHOS logo on the bottom of this page to begin downloading SOPHOS.
In the username filed type k12\ followed by your district
e-mail username and password ( k12\username )
2. The FILE DOWNLOAD window will open. Click the save button and
save the file to your desktop.
3. Open the file named newsophos.exe from your desktop.
4. You will be given an additional warning to remove all previous anti-virus
software. Click OK. Click the UNZIP Button. Follow the default prompts and click
NEXT until you reach the FINISH button.
5. The remote update utility icon will appear in
your task bar on the bottom right (It looks like a shield).
6. You will notice green lines going up and down the shield which mean the
program is updating (This update may take up to 20 minutes or
longer
if you are using a dial up connection).
7. When complete, go to Start>Programs>Sophos>sophos anti-virus. From
this window, you can then configure your virus protection choices by choosing
"Configure Sophos Anti-Virus.
