EPCOR Program
(Eastminster Presbyterian Church Outreach Program)
In 1997, the Eastminster Presbyterian Church founded its outreach program designed
to help with the academic and social needs of students in grades five and six at Edison
Elementary School. It is comprised of a two and a half hour after-school program
located at the church at 2110 East Lake Road. The after-school agenda is as follows:
2:30pm-3:00pm: Socialization time
3:00pm-3:45pm: Academic Tutoring
3:45pm-4:30pm: Activities/ Snack
The staff is comprised of all volunteers from the Eastminster Church who tutor the
students in all areas of academics including math, English, social studies, reading,
history and other subjects. The Erie School District provides transportation to and
from the after-school program. Additionally, the EPCOR program received two new
computers and hardware for the students to complete other academic subjects such
as book reports and term papers. At the conclusion of the school year a graduation
ceremony is held at the church. Parents are encouraged to attend and support their
child.
